Burning Man
“Trying to explain what Burning Man is to someone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying to explain what a particular color looks like to someone who is blind.”
(From the Burning Man website)
It is difficult to explain what exactly Burning Man is, but in a nutshell (my own words), it is a one-week festival that takes place in the Nevada desert at the end of August every year. This temporary utopia promotes freedom, self expression, creativity, community, and above all, a good time. It’s a wild mix of harsh environment, conceptual art, music of all types, wacky performances, and 50,000 people who are all united for one purpose.
The two years that I participated in this festival (2006 & 2008) inspired me to document much of what I saw with my camera. Every sunset, sunrise, dust storm, blistering heat spell, and chilly morning presented a new opportunity to capture what I was feeling at the time. These are the moments that I share with you.
Welcome.
